It's Christmas Tree Day!
In a festive turn of events that should become a yearly tradition, we decide to watch "The Bad Seed" while putting the tree up, and follow it up by accidentally watching "Mommy Dearest" also - possibly the best double feature of mother/daughter films EVER.
Even though I believed last year's tree to be the Lady Mayoress of Awesome Land, with its white frosted 60's branches and vintage baubles that were left in the house by the previous owner, this year we have added the magic words "flamingoes", and "sock monkeys" to the mix, along with some mirror balls and pink vintage thrift store baubles, Larry's jacaranda tinsel and some fab ornaments Caroline Curlyboots has given me over the past few years. All in all a fabulous 60's tree any episode of "Mad Men" would be proud of.
PS - you heard me right - SOCK MONKEYS! Mini ones sitting on a bauble! I have sent one home to my nieces and nephews - still to hear if they ever actually arrived ......
is it new years there ... yet?
