There is controversy in The Springs!
Hot news over the wire is that cheetah the chimp has died in Florida at the age of 80.
WHAT!?
But everyone knows Cheetah the chimp lives in Palm Springs!
In fact, as we were cruising Casa de Cheetah the other morning, we had the pleasure of meeting his wrangler Dan, who was outside placing empty banana crates on the kerb (true!)
Dan told us Cheetah was indisposed right then but we could come back and visit later that afternoon.
Strangely David & Brendon declined the offer, not only because of the eau de cheetah from the street, but because Dan's dogs were dragging their butts along the nature strip in what David Helms diagnosed as a clear sign they had WORMS.
Anyhoo - back to the CONTROVERSY - according to Dan, "OUR" cheeta (no H on the end) is the TV cheeta, and the freshly deceased Floridian Cheetah (with an H) is (or was) Johnny Weismuller's 80 year old cheetah.
Anyhoo - it is ALL OVER the airwaves here, AND I now find the story has even been covered by The Age!
Yes, Palm Springs - once again in the middle of INTERNATIONAL controversy, primate style.
