First I didn't think cirque du soleil could beat "O" - then I thought their Beatles "Love" was the best thing EVER, and now "Viva Elvis" takes the blue suede cake - high adrenalin as the kids like to say, and also surprisingly moving - I cried ... TWICE!!(spoiler ahead: he dies in the end) Also it is uber kooky and features some of my favourite obscure Elvis songs -I want every costume and set piece from "Bossa Nova Baby", and the "Return To Sender" airletter dresses are ADORABLE.
What a shame the tix were a billion dollars, because as soon as its over I want to see the whole thing again.
All the glamour kittens are wearing something GOLD this evening, but Mr Shane takes the cake in a FABULOUS gold sateen shirt he has bought in the foyer boutique de la menswear at the flamingo. Could I love him any more? I think not. (I believe I failed to mention the red suede tuxedo he purchased for Jubilee - he is glamour on a stick!) I could only compete if my shirt was inside out with the tag showing, as I, myself am wearing a BOB MACKIE gold lame top I got at the thrift store in Palm Springs for two dollars!
As soon as the show is over there is a glamour kitten feeding frenzy at the Elvis store - elbows out!! As soon as someone spots someting fabulous every kitten in the place is on to it like a seagull on a chip.
Louella and I wisely purchase Elvis bobble heads - happy days.
We had already planned to rendezvous at the Gold Bar at Aria, and this date is made doubly enticing when a lovely gentleman hands us all bundles of two for one drink cards - let us never speak of the next four hours again ... oh dear .. good times ... no memories ...
Two of the gals already have a kreepy Russian limo driver stalker who picked them up and drove them round town for free after Jubilee (girls ... is anything actually free?) I do seem to recall he was called and we all poured ourselves in to his limo to get home at some hideous undisclosed hour.
And then the next thing I remember is zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
