Rex & Roy's revisited
OMG - what a day!
After our delightful day at The Parker we head to an estate sale I have spotted in the vicinity of Rex & Roy's (where we got our SHAG painting) OH MY LORD -It IS at Rex and Roy's - and now that Rex and Roy have moved to Porta Valada, the entire house is opened up with price tags on EVERYTHING (even their decorative crystal penis collection - they seem to have quite a few)
Inside Rex and Roy's place is rock star AMAZING, switching from fabulous to hideous in every doorway. It transpires Roy is some kind of famous interior designer and there are ENDLESS glossy magazines casually opened on the kitchen counter with 4 page spreads on this amazing home. (no pictures of the party room though - a white tile and mirrored bathroom bigger than my living room with two 4 person showers and a gigantic spa with a life sized statue of a naked man in it - good times)
George picks up an art book or two, I bought this mini museum of modern art chair, Carlos bought a few of Roy's cast off fashions (oh happy days), and Grant is still in shock.
PS - Yes, there is a new mini Blythe in the family - santa bought her -and she has her own HORSE!
Constitutional
A delightful after brunch stroll through the grounds of the parker. The gardens are GORGEOUS with little secluded areas everywhere with comfy seats and complimentary fruit.
Everybody here looks like a movie star! (including us, I'm sure)
No wonder Robert Downey Jnr came here for an attempted overdose.
Bernadette!

Hitting the Hot Spots
We have been eyeing off this lovely looking terrace restuarant on south Palm Canyon called The Rock Garden, and thought it might be a special treat to go there with George and Carlos. Oh dear .... what. a. dump.
Should I have known when the cheesy lounge singer started singing quando quando quando and shouted "yeah baby" at me when I joined in on the chorus. (I know I was asking for it, but how can you NOT join in when its the musical genius of engelbert humperdink)
should I have known when my webbed chair was missing several straps - or when I realised the "sugar bowl" was someone's old plastic lunch box with scribble all over it .... or when the coffee pot arrived with jurassic black finger prints all over it.
Thank goodness the palm springs chapter of the red hat society were brunching there also, so we could spend our time admiring their requisite purple dress and red hat ensembles instead of our hideous meals.
Onward and upward and we spent a lovely afternoon scouring the estate sale stores, the backstreet art gallery district and of course, the thrift store, where my personal stylist Carlos found me the most amazing pair of black satin diamente encrusted ballroom shoes I have ever seen, not to mention the set of TWELVE finlandia martini glasses for a crazy six dollars. (always good to have twelve - what if i get too drunk to rinse them one night)
George and carlos selected our dinner destination, The River. (best not to let us choose after the brunch disaster) We had to park far away, so a lady drove us from our car to the restaurant in her golf cart! classic!
We browsed through The Borders, and then headed off to dinner which began with an amazing dirty martini with a blue cheese stuffed olive (heaven), and ended in a red velvet cheese cake I am still dreaming about.
All in all, delightful - and tomorrow we are off to The Parker!
Bam Bam ... then Pebbles!
